Tips With Contemporary Design
55I know. It is beautiful. Most of us never forget when they first see a well designed room with contemporary furniture. The sleek elegance of those simplified furniture that can at the same time be very complex seem to leave an unremovable mark in our retinas, and when it comes to the whole color world of the decorations, you get excited. There are those people who find this type of decor to be quite boring and too simplified. Only using one color in most of the design is not enough for all of us, but some want to have a mixture of colors to be able to "call it home" and be comfortable.
Look at that image. Do you thnk that is boring and simplified? No, That is because this is a well designed contemproray living room which is well designed and in fact not that expensive to come up with. That is what many think when they see a room like this "how much did those furniture cost?". Well the fact is that you can use inexpensive contemporary sofas and other big pieces that will drastically bring down the total costs of your design. That way you can afford a little extra on those small pieces that are going to bring out the best in your vision and design.
As you can see there on the image that you don't have to give up on your images and pictures when you choose to go with a contemporay design since you can easily use them as long as you don't over use them. That supports the simplified idea behind this style and you have to carefully weigh every piece you are considering and make a decision wheter it is too much for that particular room, or would it still complement the overall looks of the room. Less is more and when you are talking about family pictures, well most of us have too much of them on display. Inexpensive contemporary furniture can save you a lot of money which you could use to get some modern art or something similar which will match your color choices. Your design will never be blown to other stratospheres if you choose to go with this kind of techinques.
Since there are a lot of materials that you can use, I suggest that you keep on experimenting with them. You can buy cheap contemporary furniture that you can sell again if you get bored to them or decide that the materials used are not what you want. The traditional materials which are glass, metal and wood are very durable and only with the dark painted wood you will most likely see wearing and in most cases very soon. This is actually very common and that is why I would never suggest you to get dark painted wood, but to go with a dark treatment that leaves the wood texture visible. That way smaller dents and imperfections on the surface will be hidden. Glass and metal are practically forever. and even when low cost contemporary furniture you are most likely never going to have to maintain them.
